Polish Pottery Pattern Guide

There are 4 types of patterns: Standard Pattern, Unikat U Pattern, Unikat S Pattern, Unikat Limited Pattern. Basically all polish pottery factories perform standard patterns and unikat ones, some of them have more types of unikat patterns. Unikat U and Unikat S are pattern types of Manufaktura. All polish pottery is handpainted.

Standrard/Traditonal pattern

Standard polish potttery patterns are done mainly with stamps, it's called stamp technique. Tradtitional patterns are not only made with stamps, some fillings and corrections are done by the artist with paintbrush. Most traditional patterns are 70A - Dots, 70 - Moquito, 54 Peacock, AG1 - Star pattern. These patterns are used by almost all polish pottery factories. Manufaktura artists have created some new patterns the best known of them are: 70B - Apple Pattern, LW - Lily Pattern, SE - Heart Pattern, AG1 - Star Pattern

Unikat U pattern

UNIKAT U means unikat - unique decoration. Unikat U pattern is more advanced than traditional pattern, it's done with paintbrush and stamps. Artists must practise a lot before they can perform unikat U patterns. Most of unikat u artists don't sign the polish pottery near the Manufaktura stamp. Unikat S pattern

UNIKAT S means unikat signatured. Unikat S patterns can be performed by the best artist, particular artists specialize in certain patterns, some patterns are painted only by one artist. Most known of Unikat S Patterns are: BU - Autumn Splay, LK - Tulip Parade, LB Pattern

Unikat limited pattern

UNIKAT limited patterns are performed only by the best of the best artists. These patterns are very advanced, decorating polish pottery with pattern is always time-consuming, but in this case it takes very long time since unikat limted patterns are mainly done with paintbrush.
